Singapore-Batam-Bintan 'travel corridor' meant for Singapore tourists only: Indonesian minister

JAKARTA: Republic of indonesia's tourism minister Sandiaga Uno said on Mon (Mar 22) that the proposed "safe travel corridor" between Singapore, Batam and Bintan is meant to attract those from the city country to vacation in Republic of indonesia and non vice versa.
In a printing conference, he said: "We are not including Indonesian citizens going to Singapore (via the condom travel corridor) considering we desire people from Singapore to come to Indonesia."
"That is what the tourism and artistic economy ministry is focused on, how tourists tin can come here, non for (Indonesian) tourists to become away," he added.
This came after he said over the weekend that preparations can begin for a "rubber travel corridor" betwixt Singapore, Batam Nongsa and Bintan Lagoi.
The Nongsa surface area in Batam and Lagoi area in Bintan are pop resort destinations for Singaporeans. He too suggested that the travel corridor can begin on Apr 21.

Commenting on the proposed implementation details of the travel corridor, he said on Mon that iii spots in Batam and two in Bintan can be visited past tourists safely amid the pandemic.
Mr Uno said that the areas will exist sealed, only domestic tourists who have been vaccinated and show a negative COVID-xix examination result may enter the bounds.
"As long as they are in the chimera ... Indonesian citizens who are at that place must have been vaccinated, and get through routine testing both at access (to the premises) and too periodically."
Among the 5 proposed places to exist sealed includes a golf form in Batam, he said.
The minister said that talks take been ongoing with Singapore. "The discussion with Singapore continues, led by government minister of foreign affairs of course. And I previously had several discussions."
"My hope is that with the visit of the Singaporean foreign minister to Jakarta this calendar week, nosotros can push this give-and-take further. Hopefully, this can be finalised," said Mr Uno.
Singapore's Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan is scheduled to make an official visit to Indonesia afterwards this calendar week.
